How do I fix how my AI agent pronounces my business name or another word?

Use the agent's Pronunciation setting rather than writing phonetic spellings into the prompt. Made-up words such as a brand or company name are the words that most often need fixing. You do not need to delete or rebuild the agent.

1. Open the agent and its voice settings, and click the small settings gear next to the language drop-down.
2. Open the Pronunciation tab and add a custom word.
3. Type the word, for example your business name.
4. Click Generate pronunciation and listen to the options.
5. If none sound right, type your own phonetic spelling, for example vo-tel with a dash between syllables, and preview it.
6. Pick the one you like and save.

Once saved, the agent uses that pronunciation everywhere it says the word. Pronunciation is not tied to a language, so it works in any language. Test the agent again to hear the result.

If one spelling needs two pronunciations depending on meaning (such as live and live), add guidance with context to the agent's instructions, for example telling it how to say the word in a specific phrase.
